Year

2024

Every day, an astonishing 40% of fruits and vegetables are discarded globally, largely due to the misconception that "Ripe Is Wrong." In Colombia alone, approximately 6.1 million tons of food are wasted each year. To address this issue, Makro Supermarkets has initiated a sustainability program across 22 of its locations. They have introduced innovative 'Life Extending Stickers' designed to extend the shelf life of produce while also providing recipe suggestions based on the ripeness and color of the items.

These 2.7 mm stickers not only help minimize waste but also offer a cost-effective shopping experience, promoting sustainability in the process.
